Selected for Lürzer's Archive 200 Best Digital Artists Worldwide 2021/22
This project is a festive reinterpretation of my earlier work, Samson and the Philistines, with a playful Christmas twist. Using the original 2015 sculpt as the foundation, I set out to create a lighthearted, holiday-themed version of the character.
The red jumper was intricately sculpted in ZBrush, adding a unique texture that would later be enhanced with the furry effect created using XGen. The Christmas lights were carefully modeled and wrapped around the character in Maya, capturing the essence of a whimsical holiday look. To bring the scene to life, I used Arnold for lighting, shading, and rendering, ensuring the festive ambiance was captured with a soft, warm glow.
Post-production in Photoshop allowed me to fine-tune the colors and add additional details, enhancing the visual impact of the final image.
This piece was selected by Lürzer's Archive as one of the 200 Best Digital Artists Worldwide in the 2021/22 edition, further solidifying its recognition as a standout project. The blend of technical skill, creativity, and attention to detail made this work an important milestone in my career.
